The Most Important Asset for 2024

The importance of investing in our mind

A quick word before we get into today’s letter.

The past few weeks have forced me to challenge my assumptions and shift perspective.

Which impacted my creative process. I took a step back to truly assess why I have been doing this in the first place.

My goal is simple: Help 1 million people scale their income, attention and products through digital leverage.

I grew Forbes Investor Hub from 0 to 1.6 million visitors in less than 6 months through digital leverage. (SEO, Social Content etc)

Now I want to help others do the same.

So before I start droning on, let me introduce Rethink.

Rethink Renaissance will be my life’s work. I hope to land among similar brands like Contrarian Thinking, Systems Sunday, Koe Letter, Curiosity Chronicles and more.

The vision is building the new future—one that is filled with new ideas, fresh perspectives and a kick-ass lifestyle.

Our philosophy is to question everything, find the best way of doing things, and never stop improving.

If you signed-up, you probably fall into one of the following:

  • A curious person

  • Natural born problem solver

  • Consider yourself an intellectual

  • Someone looking to improve their life

  • Someone looking to build better products

  • Someone looking to benefit from the attention economy

  • Someone interested in human nature and how it can help them

  • Just a great person

With that said let’s jump into today’s letter:

I spent most of 2022 learning about the best places to invest.

A quick Google search will return a million different finance blogs, broker websites and investment choices.

The funny thing is, not a single search will return the suggestion to invest in yourself, your health and your mind.

It’s easy to get caught up in focusing only on financial investments, but it comes at a cost.

Our mind

Our health

Our performance

I too was only focused on the financial for years, but several people have completely shifted my perspective: Alex Hormozi, Gary Brecka, Andrew Huberman, Dan Koe are the first that come to mind.

They all stress the important of investing (yes, money) in our mind and health.

Our Only Life Long Asset

The reason I found this so important is simple.

Our body and mind are the only 2 assets that we will have for the entirety of our lives.

If you only got 1 car for your entire life, you would take the utmost care of it wouldn’t you?

You would never skip an oil change.

Constant car wash trips.

Only buying the premium options for parts.

Making sure you were never jeopardizing your ability to travel with your car.

Our body and mind are no different— we only get one for our entire life.

Everything Starts in Our Mind

If there is anything I have taken away from the last 6 years, it’s that everything begins in our mind.

Before anything becomes a reality, it must be thought of and visualized in our head.

The greatest inventions of our time:

  • iPhone

  • Electric Cars

  • AI

All of them started as a vision inside someone’s head.

Each of those visions turned into small actions that person took with plans they developed using their mind.

All of those actions turned into companies built through behaviors and thoughts that originated in someone’s mind.

Reliance on Self-Education

Most people stop investing in their mind the moment they graduate from college, which costs them more than they realize.

There are two primary ways we can invest in our mind.

The first is physically, through exercise and nutrition— we can build a stronger and healthier mind.

The second is through information (education).

We can expand and train our mind to be better through self-education.

Whether its books, podcasts, YouTube videos, courses etc— all of these are necessary to invest in your mind.

We should never defer what we feed our brain to algorithm. You need to be the primary driver of what information you consume.

The physical and informational inputs will determine how we feel on a daily basis.

If we consume shitty food and fear inducing content, we will feel like shit, be anxious and have a difficult time focusing.

If we consume healthy food, exercise and consume construction/informative content, we will feel empowered to act on the new information we are consuming.

Your mind is the origin of your emotions and behaviors which are responsible for your outcomes.

The Highest ROI of Our Lifetime

Investing in yourself to acquire new skills and knowledge will always be the single highest ROI thing you can do.

Consider a college degree.

People spend 100s of thousands of dollars for that piece of paper with the expectation that for the rest of their lives, that degree will open doors for them.

In today’s world, there are endless classes, courses and content online all designed to teach you something new that you can take with you for the rest of your life.

The problem is that most people don’t think learning new information gets them anywhere if it doesn’t provide them with a degree or certificate.

But that is the wrong perspective.

The last 2 jobs I landed were based on skills and knowledge I acquired by myself online and had nothing to do with my degree.

Furthermore, I now sell these skills as a service to other businesses looking to leverage them.

The point is simple:

Our mind is an asset that provides an unlimited ROI if we use it correctly.

The internet has leveled the playing field for skill acquisition, and is the best medium to invest in yourself through.

Start taking advantage.
