I have to be honest, I f*cked up
You were supposed to be reading this last Saturday.
In the last letter I announced the release of interactive newsletters.
A new approach where I include a live whiteboard with a visual approach the regular content in the newsletter.
Well that was supposed to happen last weekend, but I royally screwed up.
I was getting ready for a bachelor party in Florida.
My flight was at 1pm on Thursday afternoon.
I packed all my bags, drove to my aunt’s house for the carpool and waited to get pick up. My ride came, I loaded up the car and off we went.
I checked my bags, got in line for security and then my heart sank…
I forgot my backpack with my laptop, toiletries, chargers, extra money and sun glasses. (that Florida sun is extra strong.)
Luckily I had everything I needed to get on the flight in my right pocket.
But that meant I was going to miss sending out the newsletter, creating the whiteboard and keeping up my newsletter streak.
In plain english, I fucked up.
But hidden behind this mistake was an epic silver lining.
I was digitally disconnected for 4 days straight.
I’ve never been without a computer that long since I got my first laptop.
Ever.
My anxiety went down. My stress about what to do went down. My ideas seems to have a brighter tint to them.
Overall everything just felt better.
The lesson?
Disconnect for a while.
We weren’t made to look at a screen inside for 12 hours everyday. (and this is coming from the biggest tech nerd you’ll find)
To make it up to you all I am offering a free call for anyone looking to build a brand, product or start creating content. You can grab some time here, but spots are filling up fast this week.
(if any of these don’t work just reply and we’ll find some time)
So next week we will have the first interactive newsletter 🙂 .
Until then, happy disconnecting.
Talk soon,
Matt
